Salvation Army Trading Company HIGHLY COMMENDED for Marie Claire Sustainability Award

The results of the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2024 were revealed on 4th September via a virtual stream, where fashion industry businesses focused on people and planet were celebrated.

The awards cover the entire spectrum of fashion, home and lifestyle and categories include Fabric Innovation, Activewear, Eco-Friendly decorating brand and so much more.

Salvation Army Trading Company Limited (SATCoL), were Highly Commended for B2B Service or Innovation and were congratulated by the Marie Claire UK team.

SATCoL has invested in ground-breaking and unique technology which enhances its existing nationwide textile reuse and recycling schemes.

SATCoL’s advanced FibersortTM system, enables accurate sorting, grading of non-wearable clothing and textiles by fibre type, blend and colour for recycling back into the textiles supply chain. In June 2023, SATCoL launched additional technology, Project Re:claimTM, in partnership with corporate wear specialist brand Project Plan B as part of the next step towards SATCoL’s ambition to create the UK’s first fibre farm and to support their aims to massively scale up textile-to-textile recycling of all types of materials.

Kirk Bradley, Head of Corporate Partnerships said:

“We’re delighted to be recognised for our work in the industry. In addition to our commitment to reduce waste and extend the useful life of textiles, the profits we make help to raise vital funds for charity. We would like to congratulate all the winners of the 2024 awards and all the Highly Commended brands and a huge thank you to the judges and the Marie Claire UK Team.”
