The Manor Preparatory School in Abingdon, Oxfordshire welcomes children between the ages of 2 and 11, and has an enduring ethos of charity and community support, aiming to help pupils consider how they can make a genuine difference to local, national and global issues. As part of this approach, the school was delighted to sign up for our Recycle With Michael initiative.
Catherine Duff, Manor Prep’s Charities/Community Links Co-Ordinator, says that a real plus of the scheme is knowing everything the school donates is being reused rather than sent to landfill. In addition, staff, children and parents have found the scheme to be both simple and extremely effective.
Catherine says: “It’s an ongoing process which has been incredibly easy. A quick email and a collection happens, which is fantastic. If we can make children think about giving something that they have to help others... that is a really important thing.”
